Meet the Families

Join us with our community of families as they journey through the church year, starting in Advent (begins Dec 1). Each family will share their experiences—the good, the bad, the messy—as they interact with the Gospels through the Good Dirt daily devotional.

The Daniels
Daniels
We are the Daniels: Chuck, Riki, Genevieve, 13 and Caroline (Charlie), 10. We are a God-fearing, Bible-reading, Texas loving, perfectly imperfect family of 4 who just happen to live each day with the joys, miracles and struggles associated with autism. Lucky for us, our God is bigger than any diagnosis this world can hand out!

The Liebenthals
Liebe Family Shot 10-2013
We’re a family on the move, recovering from the American Dream.  We love to explore new trails and we love to stay home.  Every day we face the fact that we have received a Divine Mercy and we are grateful.  Should you happen by our house, you’ll find good humour and a strong cup of coffee on offer.  You’d be welcome.

The Morykons

The Morykons are Brian, Joy, Lucy (7), Ramey (5) and Liam (born Aug ’13) who live in Fort Mill, SC in a neighborhood of people mostly twice our age. If you dropped by you might catch us dancing around the living room to Lucy’s current favorite, Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

The Ouedraogos

We are the Ouedraogo’s; Joseph, Meleah, Ezekiel, Nere-Waya and Judah. Our family consists of two nationalities, three different skin tones, four languages and we serve as missionaries in Togo. We love to eat Mexican food, have adventures, travel and most of all, laugh.

The Quinns

We are four guys and a female who always wanted to be surrounded by men. Collin, Austin, and Derrin are 14, 11, and 8 and are full of energy for sports, music, art, and friends. We live in a Denver suburb and on a daily basis “lift our eyes to the hills,” seeking God’s help, his life, for the ordinary moments. Mike is a numbers guy (finance) with a ministry heart. And Brenda loves words and writing centered on the Word, Jesus.

The Rundels

We are the Rundel family, our motto is “live simply, love deeply” and we seek to work that out in our every day lives as best we can. Tom, and Kara (also known as daddy and mama) are living with, learning from and loving these beautiful boys we have been entrusted with, Isaac age 9 has a rare chromosome disorder resulting in a multitude of physical, mental, and emotional diffabilities. On the flip side Isaac makes up for what he lacks by being blessed with abundant joy, and an endlessly loving spirit. Our second born son, Elijah, went on ahead in the journey 8 years ago, and we look forward to the day we will see and hold him again with Christ. Nolan age 6 is a beautiful “old” soul, a true contemplative spirit who keeps us all organized and rooted in love.

The Tylers

We’re the Tyler Family: Steve, Colleen, Chase, Elijah and Max. We live in Rochester, NY and are crazy busy. We attend Aldersgate United Methodist Church and are excited to do this devotional.

The Weyels

We’re the Weyels—Gary, Carolyn, Lauren and Jonathan. We’re enjoying family, friends and the California sunshine here in San Luis Obispo, named one of “the happiest places on Earth.” Not a bad way to live.

The Youngs

We are a colorful family consisting of dad-Mike, mom-Wendy, 15 year old “sissy”-Isabella, Quinn our big 12 year old, and Kadin is 4.  We own a small winery/orchard in Colorado. We love the outdoors, being with friends and family, traveling, good food, sports and the range of people we get to meet everyday.  Mike describes us as a fractal-a beautiful, disorganized, adventurous, sometimes messy yet always fun, purple, fluid turbulence.
